GRIST, FRANK W. Of Lake Station, IN, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Joanna J. Grist (Padovani); stepdaughter, Melinda (Jon) Clifft; dear grandson, Noah Clifft; and aunt, Lillian Bennett. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Berthel Grist and uncle, Bill Bennett. Frank graduated from Emerson High school in 1965. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Londonderry, Northern Ireland and Puerto Rico. He retired from U.S. Steel after 39 years of service. Frank loved music, especially playing his guitar. He was a member of several bands, most recently the Real Life Band. Frank was also a member of Real Life Community Church in Portage for 8 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His quirky sense of humor will be missed. Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 15, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave Schererville, IN) Interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to visit with the family at Chapel Lawn on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
